Philip joined Wayne Hummer Investments in 1955, and worked alongside his father, Wayne, and brother, Bill, to develop business with community banks and individual clients throughout the Midwest. In 2002, the firm became the investment services arm of Wintrust Financial Corporation.

Philip served as chairman of Wayne Hummer’s executive committee, and has held various leadership positions in the securities industry. He is also active with several Chicago civic organizations, including the Chicago History Museum, the Chicago Crime Commission and the Field Foundation. Philip and his wife of 59 years, Lynn, enjoy travel, as well as time with friends and family at their vacation home in New York.
