Grove has worked in the securities business in New York and Chicago since 1982. In addition to being the Managing Partner of HMA, he handles client relationships, and is responsible for strategic planning and business development.

When not in the office, Grove writes novels, the latest being Hope, the sequel to the adult coming-of-age adventure Forty Rod Road. He resides in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago with his wife, Brooke, and their dog, Vino. Grove enjoys traveling the country and the globe, frequently stopping in to visit clients. He is a graduate of Brown University and is a trustee of The Ragdale Foundation and the American Writers Museum.
